A friend sent me a list of allll the things that can go wrong with untreated GD.
Eye Problems Kidney Problems Hypertension (High blood Pressure) Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Premature Labor Infections Cesarean Delivery Macrosomia (large baby) Preeclampsia Polyhydramnios Polycythemia Hypocalcemia Neonatal Hypoglycemia Neonatal hypoglycemia is defined as low blood sugars in the baby after birth. If the baby's pancreas is making large amounts of insulin in response to the mother's high blood sugars, it will continue to do so for a time after delivery. Since the sugar supply from the mother is no longer present once the baby has delivered, blood sugar can drop too low (hypoglycemia, blood sugar < 40 mg/dl). The baby can become fussy, jittery or may even have a seizure or breathing problems. Other Neonatal Metabolic Problems In addition to hypoglycemia, the excess insulin can also infrequently be responsible for other metabolic complications such as jaundice (yellowing of the skin) and imbalances of calcium or magnesium. The chances of a baby being born with diabetes are extremely rare particularly in cases where the mother has gestational diabetes. Stillbirth When blood sugars are persistently high, blood vessel damage in the placenta and poor oxygen and nutrient supply to the baby can occur. This decrease in oxygen may cause health damage to the baby including death or stillbirth. Birth Defects The most common birth defects are those of the brain, spinal cord and heart. 5X the rate of neonatal morbidity thrilling huh

I failed my 1 hour glucose test. My numbers were "pretty high" according to the nurse that called. It was apparently bad enough that I had no say in the 3 hour at all. They put me on hold and called the lab and set up a appointment for the 3 hour and then told me when to be there. No choices for me. I have to be there at 7am Monday, no eating for 12 hours prior. At least I can drink water until I drink the sugar. Otherwise they would be hating me. Going to be bad enough with the fasting. I am going to pass out. I can see it now. I came close with the 1 hour and that was only 1 blood draw. I will def conk out with 4, after not having anything but water for 12 hours. On the plus side, no wait on the even worse side I will have to have all 5 kids with me, starting at 7 am in a lab for 4 hours. What exactly are they going to do for 4 hours? And what will they do when I conk out? What will L do? They can hardly sit still the 10 minutes we wait in the Dr's waiting room. 4 hours. Lord I should just cancel and let myself be ill the rest of the pregnancy. Whats the worst I will have a big baby? please I have gained less weight this time then ever before. Course I started heavier too. I am still under the highest I have ever been. So, I will be light headed nauseated dizzy weak hot sweaty shaky blurry spotty vision and headachy every time I eat anything sugary. It is only another 3 months. Better then trying to deal with the kids for 4 stinking hours in a boring nothing to do lab waiting room. With them following me in every hour to watch my blood get sucked out and mommy pass out. Kenny won't go in late, he is the only one in the office for who knows how long. The only person in town I know anymore has a newborn and a house that is full of unpacked boxes and so does not need 5 more at 630 in the am. Who in their right mind wants to watch 5 kids at 630 in the morning! Other then me. Nope, think I've decided, I just won't go. I am not going to put the kids and myself through it, there is no one to watch them at all before I am so close to popping it won't matter anyway. Shoot what is less then 12 weeks going to do anyway. There that's settled. Just not going to do it. I feel better now. No more worrying over it.

So once again Evan has delved into the world of baking. Today we decided to make snicker doodles.
This time I supervised ingredient measuring and mixing as it was with the kitchenaid. We went from to to to And they are deliciousness. I worry I may eat them all before Kenny gets home. the kids have all had 2 each plus L had 3. I have eaten uhmm uhmm uh 5 or 6. I have stopped though as dinner time is fast approaching. We are having tacos. What are you having?
Stupid check didnt come! It was suppose to. Oh well it'll be here tomorrow I guess.
These cookies are yummmmmmmmmmmmmmy. I think i will wait to get laundry stuff till Kennys home. Maybe I will run up after the monsters err kids are in bed. I didn't want to leave the house tomorrow at all. Have to be here in case the phones require siggies. Guess I can dep it after they come n go. Hopefully they will come well before 7pm. I want ta fiddle with my phone! More importantly I need to dep that check. They are lagging so bad they are now a week behind! Which is doing wonders for my bill paying. I need them to catch up. At least I am not getting iou's right?
I see them all over now. Or products like it. I think its a very neat idea. Though I wonder about reading a computer moniter instead of a printed book. My eyes tend to hurt after spending to much time staring at the brightly lit computer monitor. With as much as I read I can't imagine how long it would take me to go blind with a kindle type product. Do any of you have one? Does it hurt your eyes? Do you enjoy reading it as much as a real book?

So I decided to let Evan make those rolls from tha recipe site mom. In the breadmakaer.
Alone. He went through the list and added alll the ingredients without supervision. When the dough cycle ended I went and opened it up and discovered... A pan of mush. He didnt add the right amount of flour. Was rather funny. I pulled out the kitchen aid added more flour actually added all the flour I had left it was still sticky but useable barely So after it rose for the 3rd time and was cooked and eaten yes, it still ended up edible if a little floury it was a learning experience for E i am sure next time he decides to make something he will follow the directions and make sure the cups are full he did make scrambled eggs this am.. with supervision and did a splendid job. Mr E is on his way to being a cook
